Before the Heroes in a half shell hit the TV screen, and WAY before they took over Hollywood, the Ninja Turtles were drawn in black and white and geared to a much more adult audience. Once color was introduced to the comics, they all wore red headbands, which made it very confusing for their girlfriends to tell them apart. For those of you who appreciate this earlier and darker version of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, this BJJ GI is for you!
This officially licensed Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Gi uses art from the original 1984 Eastman and Laird comic book Issue # 1. This is issue # 12 in our line of officially licensed, limited edition collectible BJJ gis.
The photo on the interior of this limited edition TMNT Gi is taken right from the pages of issue # 1. We added some cool details like the original Kevin Eastman Turtle drawing on the lower lapel.
All of the patches are embroidered to ensure that they won't come off during a tough roll or when taking on the Foot Clan.
The jacket is made of a 460 GSM pearl weave cotton which is light enough to compete in, and yet tough enough to take some serious abuse on the mats.
The pants are made of a very durable 300 gram double twill cotton material that's still incredibly comfortable. Ultra-comfortable, yet super durable.
The collar is made of rip- stop cotton for extra durability.
The interior liner is made of a mesh material that wicks moisture from your body into your Gi.
A thick, printed foam-core drawstring holds the pants up, so all you have to focus on is Jits. Reinforced belt loops keep everything neatly in place.
The gi is pre-shrunk, but please remember that it will still shrink slightly if you wash it in hot and throw it in the dryer...not recommended unless you need to as this will not help prolong the life of your gi.

Please note that this gi is a slimmer fitting gi, and may be slightly tighter in the shoulders and chest than the Batman Hush, Superman Kingdom Come, and Batman: The Killing Joke gis. It fits very similarly to the Ryu Hadoken Gi, the Star Trek Spock Gi, and the Superman: Last Son of Krypton Gi. Please reach out to us here if you have any questions regarding sizing.
